Assignment
At the last meeting we conducted a Mini-mock trial. The students were divided into teams for the prosecution and the defense. We quickly moved through the assignment, and will conduct a similar mini-mock trial at our next meeting on Friday, Oct. 21. The assignment involves an arrest of a student at school for possession of marijuana. The file is attached. Also another document essential to understand the process of this trial was distributed. Students who were in attendance should already have a copy of it, and those who were not at the meeting should come by Room B-4 and pick up a copy. Those who were not in attendance should contact myself, Jorden Eason, or Richard Sanders, the team captains, for assignment to a team.
We also discussed the fact our meeting will soon increase in frequency, and possibly occur on weekends and at night, so be thinking about when you can attend.
We are presently learning the trial process, and then we will learn the Mock Trial Rules that apply in this court. Once we receive the case, we will develop our strategy, and then practice our performance for the competition.
