Week of May 22 - 26

Monday, May 22 - Students will receive Voc. 26-30 crossword puzzle review in preparation for the Final Exam.
Tuesday, May 23 - Students will work on Exam Review.  Computer turn in for those students who are exempt from their exams.
Wednesday, May 24 - 1st, 5th, and 7th period take exams. 
Thursday, May 25 - 2nd, 4th and 6th period exams,
Friday, May 26 - Students will turn in computers during 1st period.  3rd period exam.

Week of May 15 - 19

Monday, May 15 - Our Town Projects due. 20 points per day will be deducted for projects not turned in today.  Students will define Voc. 30 words: visage, vulnerable, wan, wane, wheedle, whimsical, wreak, zealous, zenith, zephyr.  Students will finish Act II of Our Town and take a quiz over the act.  Notebook test tomorrow.
Tuesday, May 16 - Students will complete Voc. 30-2.  Students will complete Notebook test, using their notebooks.
Wednesday, May 17 - Students will complete Voc. 30-3 and G.W.U. 30-1.

Week of May 7 - 11

Monday, May 7 - Students will define Voc. 29 words:  timorous, transcend, transition, transitory, translucent, ultimatum. unprecedented, vehement, verbatim, vigilant.  Students will finish reading Act I of Our Town.  Students will complete the Act I study guide, take a quiz over Act I, and then watch the video recording of Act I.  Students will receive a Progress Report that needs to be taken home and have signed.
Tuesday, May 8  - Students will complete Voc. 29 - 2.  Students can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will begin reading Act II.
Wednesday, May 9 - Students will complete Voc. 29 - 3.  Students will finish reading Act II, answering the study guide and take a quiz over Act II.
Thursday, May 10  -  Students will complete Voc. 29-4.  Students will begin reading Act III and answering Act III study guide.
Friday, May 9  - Students will complete Voc. 29 quiz.  Students will watch the video recording of Our Town.   Projects can be turned in today for extra credit.  Projects are due Monday, May 15.  Projects turned in after Monday will have 20 points per day deducted.

Week of May 1 - 5

Monday, May 1 - Students will take Voc. 27 quiz.  Students will define Vocabulary 28 words:  submission, subsidiary, subsidize, substantially, succulent, succumb, synopsis, synthesis, tawny, theoretical. Students will receive information for a project that goes along with with reading of Our Town.  The project will count as a test grade and will be due Monday, May 15.
Tuesday, May 2 - Students will complete Voc. 28-2.  Students can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will use their computers to complete a background informative sheet on Thornton Wilder and Our Town.  If not finished in class, it will need to be finished for homework.
Wednesday, May 3 - Students will complete Voc. 28-3 and G.W.U. on Troublesome Words.  Students will begin reading Act I of Our Town in class and answering the study guide.
Thursday, May 4 - Students will complete Voc. 28-4 and G.W.U. on Troublesome Words.  Students will finish reading Act I of Our Town in class and answering the study guide.  Students will complete a quiz on Act I.
Friday, May 5 - Students will complete Voc. 28 Quiz.  Students will watch Act I of Our Town.
 
 

Week of April 24 - 28

Create an account if you have not already done so. You will need the following codes:

Click on "My Assignments" to find the assignment that you need to read and complete no later than Friday, April 28th. The grade that you make on this assignment will be used to replace your lowest Vocabulary or Daily Grade.
Students will define Voc. 27 words:  sequel, simulate, sordid, sporadic, stamina, steppe, stimulant, stipulate, stratagem, stringent.   Students will continue to watch Taking Chance and complete "Day 2" of the Daily Journal Entry.
Tuesday, April 25 -  1st, 2nd and 3rd period students will take the Geometry EOC Test.  5th, 6th, and 7th period students will complete Voc. 27-2.  Students can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will then watch the conclusion of Taking Chance and then complete "Day 3" of the Daily Journal Entry.  Journal Entries will then be turned in.
Wednesday, April 26 - 1st, 2nd and 3rd period students students will complete Voc. 27-2.  Students can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will then watch the conclusion of Taking Chance and then complete "Day 3" of the Daily Journal Entry.  Journal Entries will then be turned in.  6th and 7th period classes will take the Biology EOC Test. All students will need to bring a fully charged computer to class Thursday.
Thursday, April 27 - Students will complete Voc. 27-3 and 27-4.  Students will  then use their computers to begin work on a Career Research Project.
Friday, April 28  -  Because of the Olympics for Exceptional Students today, students will take the Voc. 27 quiz Monday, May 1.  Students will continue their Career Research Project.  Projects will be turned in at the end of class.  
Today is the last day to complete the CommonLit assignment.
 

Week of April 17 - 21

Monday, April 17  -  Because of TnReady Testing this week, there will be no Vocabulary words.  Students will finish the review for the TnReady test.
Tuesday, April 18  -  Students will report to 1st period and then proceed to their testing location for the TnReady English Part I - the writing portion.
Wednesday, April 19  -  Students will report to 1st period and then proceed to their testing location for the TnReady English Part II - the reading and questions portion.
Thursday, April 20  -  Students will complete a research assignment in preparation for watching a historical video.  The written assignment is due at the end of class.
Friday, April 21  -  Students will begin watching the historical video Taking Chance and completing a daily journal entry about the video.  Journal entries will be turned in at the conclusion of the video.

Week of April 10 - 13

Monday, April 10 -  Students will define Voc. 26 words:  requisite, resonant, retainer, retribution, rift, rivulet, sadistic, sardonic, scenario, seethe.
Students will complete test covering correct Pronoun Usage.
Students will receive Progress Reports and TnReady Projection Letters.  Both need to be signed and returned by Thursday, April 13, in order for students to receive the incentives.
Tuesday, April 11 - Students will complete Voc. 26-2.  Students can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will receive a copy of the TnReady Practice Test and review it in class.
Wednesday, April 12 - Students will complete G.W.U. 26-1 and Voc. 26-3.  Students will continue reviewing the TnReady Practice Test.
Thursday, April 13 - Students will complete G.W.U. 26-2.  Students will also complete Voc. 26 quiz.  Progress Reports and TnReady Projection Letters are due no later than today in order to receive the incentives. 
Students will continue with the TnReady Practice Test.

Week of April 3 - 7

Monday, April 3 - Students will receive Voc. 21-25 review crossword puzzle.  Puzzle will be due on Friday, April 7.  Test will be Friday, April 7.
Tuesday, April 4 - Students will begin review of correct Pronoun Usage.
Wednesday, April 5 - Students will continue review of correct Pronoun Usage.
Thursday, April 6 - Students will take a test over correct Pronoun Usage.
Friday, April 7 - Students will take test over Vocabulary 21-25 words.

Week of Mar. 27 - 31

Monday, Mar. 27  -  Students will define Voc. 25 words:  recourse, rectify, recur, redundant, rejuvenate, reminiscent, rendezvous, repress, reprieve, requiem.  Students will review and practice special problems with subject-verb agreement.  By Thursday, students are to complete two of the following three exercise - Rev. Ex. I, J, K  on pages 184 - 185 in the grammar book.
Tuesday, Mar. 28  -  Students will complete Voc. 25-2.  Students can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will continue review and practicing with Subject-Verb Agreement problems.
Wednesday, Mar. 29 - Students will complete G.W.U. 25-1 and Voc. 25-3.  Students will continue working with and reviewing Subject-Verb Agreement.
Thursday, Mar. 30  -  Students will complete G.W.U. 25-2 and Voc. 25-3.  Students will complete test covering the different rules for Subject-Verb Agreement. 
Friday, Mar. 31  -  Students will complete Voc. 25 Quiz.

Week of Mar. 20 - 24

Monday, Mar. 20 - Students will define Voc. 24 words:  proximity, purge, qualm, quantitative, quibble, rankle, ravage reactionary, rebuke, recipient
Students will begin reviewing Subject/Verb Agreement.  Watch powerpoint and complete the Practice assignment.  The files are attached.
Tuesday, Mar. 21 - All 10th grade students will take the Pre-ACT test.
Wednesday, Mar. 22 - Students will complete Voc. 24-2 and make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will continue with the review of subject/verb agreement skills.  Students will receive a blue Agreement Notes sheet to review and study for a quiz on Friday.  Students will receive an Agreement worksheet to complete.
Thursday, Mar. 23 - Students will complete G.W.U. 24-1 and Voc. 24-3.  Students will continue with the review of grammar skills.
Friday, Mar. 24 - Students will complete Voc. 24 quiz and a quiz over Agreement Notes - Blue sheet that was given out Wednesday.

Week of Mar. 6 - 10

Monday, Mar. 6 - Students will define Voc. 23 words:  postulate, potency, precarious, prelude, pretext, prevalent, prolific, prophetic, protocol, protrude.
Julius Caesar essay is due today my 3:00 PM on   turnitin.com.  Essays submitted after 3:00 PM will be graded late - 20 points off per day. Students will spend class time working on their group project.
Tuesday, Mar. 7 - Students will complete Voc. 23-2.  They may make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will complete Notebook Test.
Wednesday, Mar. 8 -  Students will complete Benchmark Test on their computers.  Students must have fully charged computers in class for test.
Thursday, Mar. 9 - Students will complete G.W.U. 23-1.  Students will complete their projects and be ready to turn them in.
Friday, Mar. 10  -  Students will complete Voc, 23 quiz.
