Course Description
In this class you will learn skills, vocabulary, and grammar that will be the foundation for your learning the Spanish language.
- First 9 weeks: At the end of the first 9 weeks you will be able to greet people and say goodbye, introduce yourself and others, know letters and numbers, say where you are from, know the days of the week and what the weather is like, respond to classroom instructions, talk about activities, and say what you like and what do not like.
- Second 9 weeks: At the end of the second 9 weeks you will be able to talk about your daily schedule and activities, tell what time it is, tell where things are located, tell how you feel, talk about foods and beverages, talk about your family, give dates, make comparisons, talk about what clothes you want to buy, describe places and events in town, and order from a menu.
- Third 9 weeks: At the end of the third 9 weeks you will be able to describe a house and household items, discuss the order of things, describe people and locations, plan a party, talk about chores and responsibilities, give commands, talk about sports, discuss who you know and what you know, describe what you have done, and talk about staying healthy.
- Fourth 9 weeks: At the end of the fourth 9 weeks, you will be able to talk about technology, discuss series of events, talk about negative situations, learn proper phone etiquette, extend invitations, talk about a typical day, discuss your daily routine while on vacation, talk about buying souvenirs on vacation, bargain at a market, and discuss vacation activities.
