Week of May 21 - 24

Monday, May 21 -  Students will work on Exam Review.
 
Tuesday, May 22 - Students in 2nd, 4th and 6th periods will take their English Exam.  Students in 1st, 5th and 7th periods will work on exam reviews.
 
Wednesday, May 23 - Students in 1st, 5th and 7th periods will take their English exams.
 
Thursday, May 24 - Students in 3rd period will take their English Exam.  

Week of May 14 - 18

Monday, May 14 - Students will turn in Our Town Projects.  Students will define Voc. 29 words:  timorous, transient, transition, transitory, translucent, ultimatum, unprecedented, vehement, verbatim, vigilant.  Students will finish reading Act III and will take a quiz over Act III.
 
Tuesday, May 15 - Students will complete Voc. 29-2.  Students can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will watch the video on Our TownStudents will receive the Notebook Check list and will work on organizing their notebooks to be ready for the Notebook Test on Thursday.
 
Wednesday, May 16 - Student will complete Voc. 29-3.  Students will then complete a writing assignment on Our Town.  This will be turned in at the end of class.
 
Thursday, May 17 - Students will complete Notebook Test using their notebooks.
 
Friday, May 18 - Students will complete Voc. 29 quiz.  Students will then receive Voc. 30 words to work on.

Week of May 7 - May 11

Monday, May 7 - Students will define Voc. 28 words:  submission, subsidiary, subsidize, substantially, succulent, succumb, synopsis, synthesis, tawny, theoretical.  Students will begin reading Act II of Our Town.
 
Tuesday, May 8 - Students will complete Voc. 28-2. Students can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will finish reading Act II and answer the study guide.  Students will complete Act II quiz.
 
Wednesday, May 9 -  Students will complete Voc. 28-3 and G.W.U. 28-1.  Students will watch the remainder of Act I and Act II of Our Town.
 
Thursday, May 10 - Students will complete G.W.U. 28-2 and 28-3.  Students will begin reading Act III of Our Town.   Projects can be turned in by Friday for extra credit.  Projects are due Monday, May 14.
 
Friday, May 11 - Students will complete Voc. 28 quiz.  Students will continue reading Act III of Our Town.  Our Town projects are due Monday, May 14.

Week of April 30 - May 4

Monday, April 30 -  Students will complete Voc. 26 quiz.  Students will then define Voc. 27 words:  sequel, simulate, sordid, sporadic, stamina, steppe, simulate, stipulate, stratagem, stringent.  Students will complete and turn in background information on Our Town and Thornton Wilder.
 
Tuesday, May 1 - Students will complete Voc. 27-2, and they can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will receive information on a Project that will accompany the reading of Our Town.  The project is due Monday, May 14.  Students will begin reading Our Town Act I.
 
Wednesday, May 2 - Students will complete Voc. 27-3 and G.W.U. 27-1.  Students will continue reading Act I and complete the study guide.
 
Thursday, May 3 - Students will complete Voc. 27-4 and G.W.U. 27-2.  Students finish reading Act I and complete a quiz over Act I.
 
Friday, May 4 - Students will complete Voc. 27 quiz.  Students will begin reading Act 2.

Week of April 23-27

Monday, April 23 - Students will define Voc. 26 words:  requisite, resonant, retainer, retribution, rift, rivulet, sadistic (sadism #2a), sardonic, scenario, seethe.  Students will watch Taking Chance, a historical video and complete the day's journal entry.
 
Tuesday, April 24 -   Students will complete Voc. 26-2, and make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will continue watching Taking Chance, a historical video and complete the day's journal entry.
 
Wednesday, April 25 -   Students will complete Voc. 26-3.  Students will continue watching Taking Chance, a historical video and complete the day's journal entry. Journal entries should be turned in.  Students will study for the Voc. 26 quiz to be taken tomorrow, Thursday.   Students will complete Voc. 26-4 for homework.
 
Thursday, April 26 -  Students will complete Voc. 26 Quiz.  Students will complete G.W.U. 26-1 and 26-2.
 
Friday, April 27 - Students will complete an "Introduction on Our Town".  They will use their computers and literature books in the class.  These introductions will be turned in at the end of class.
 

Week of April 16 - 20

No vocabulary this week due to EOC Testing.
 
Monday, April 16 -  English EOC TEST Part 1 - Bring fully charged computer.
 
Tuesday, April 17 -  English EOC TEST Part 2 and 3 - Bring fully charged computer.
 
Wednesday, April 18 -  English EOC TEST Part 4 - Bring fully charged computer.
 
 

Week of April 9 - 13

Monday, April 9 - Pronoun Usage Test.  Students will also receive Voc. 21-25 crossword review.  The Voc. 21 - 25 Test will be Friday, April 13.  Students will receive EOC incentive letters.  These letters need to be signed and returned to us no later than Friday, April 13, in order to qualify for the incentive.
 
Tuesday, April 10 -  Students will begin a review of a practice EOC in preparation for the TNReady EOC in English which will begin Mon., April 16 - Wed., April 18.  Students will receive a Progress Report.  This needs to be signed and returned by Friday, April 13, in order to receive the 10 point bonus coupon.
 
Wednesday, April 11 - Students will continue the review of a practice EOC in preparation for the TNReady EOC in English which will begin Mon., April 16 - Wed., April 18.
 
Thursday, April 12 - Students will continue a review of a practice EOC in preparation for the TNReady EOC in English which will begin Mon., April 16 - Wed., April 18.
 
Friday, April 13 - Voc. 21 - 25 Test.  

Week of April 2 - 6

Monday, April 2 - Students will define Vocabulary 25 words:  

Define Voc. 25 words:   repress, rectify, requiem, redundant, reprieve, reminiscent, rendezvous, recourse, rejuvenate, recur.  Students will review rules for Pronoun Usage in preparation for the EOC test, by completing exercises in the grammar book.

Tuesday, April 3 -  Students will complete Voc. 25-2.  Students can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will continue to review rules for Pronoun Usage. 

 Wednesday, April 4 - Students will complete Voc. 25-3.  Students will review the rules for using Who and Whom correctly.
 
Thursday, April 5 - Students will complete G.W.U. 25-1.  
 
Friday, April 6 - Students will complete Voc. 25 Quiz..  Test over Pronoun usage.  Students will receive Voc. 21-25 vocabulary review in preparation for the test on Friday, April 13.

Week of Mar. 26 -29

Monday, Mar, 26 - Students will define Voc. 24 words:  proximity, purge, qualm, quantitative, quibble, rankle, ravage, reactionary, rebuke, recipient.  Students will continue to review Pronoun-Antecedent rules and Pronoun Usage in preparation for the EOC test.
 
Tuesday, Mar. 27 - Students will complete Voc. 24-2 and they can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will review rules for Pronoun Usage in preparation for the EOC test.
 
Wednesday, Mar. 28 - Students will complete Voc. 24-3 and G.W.U. 24-1. Students will continue to review rules for Pronoun Usage in preparation for the EOC test.
 
Thursday, Mar. 29 - Students will complete Voc. 24 Quiz.

Week of Mar. 19 -23

Monday, Mar, 19 -  Students will define Voc. 23 words:  postulate, potency, precarious, prelude, pretext, prevalent, prolific, prophetic, protocol, protrude.  Students will review Subject/Verb Agreement rules, completing at Sub/Verb Agreement packet.  The packet is due Wednesday, Mar. 21.
Tuesday, Mar. 20 - All 10th grade students will complete the Pre-ACT test.  Students in periods 5, 6, and 7  will complete Voc. 23-2.  They can make flashcards for extra credit. 
Wednesday, Mar. 21 - Students in 1st, 2nd and 3rd periods will complete Voc. 23-2.  They can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will complete G.W.U. 23-1 and Voc. 23-3. Students will review Pronoun/Antecedent Agreement rules.
Thursday, Mar. 22 - Students in 1st, 2nd and 3rd periods will complete G.W.U. 23-1 and Voc. 23-3.  Students in 5th, 6th and 7th periods will complete G.W.U. 23-2 and Voc. 23-4.   Students will continue to review Pronoun/Antecedent Agreement rules.
Friday, Mar. 23 - Students will complete Voc. 23 Quiz.  Students will continue to review Pronoun/Antecedent Agreement rules.
 

Week of Mar. 5 - 9

Monday, Mar. 5 -  Students will define Voc. 22 words:  perceive, perception, perseverance, personification, pertinent, pivotal,  plausible, pompous, portly, posthumous.. Students will receive study guide for the Julius Caesar test which will be Wednesday, Mar. 14.
 
Tuesday, Mar. 6 - Students will complete Voc. 22-2 definitions. Students can make flashcards for extra credit.  Notebook Test  Have organized notebooks in class to complete the test.
 
Wednesday, Mar. 7 - Students will complete Voc. 22-3 sentences and G.W.U. 22-1.  Julius Caesar Test.  Bring fully charged computers to class Thursday.
 
Thursday, Mar. 8 -  Students will complete EOY Benchmark Test on their computers.
 
Fridy, Mar. 9 - Students will complete Voc. 22 quiz.

Week of Feb. 26 - Mar. 2

Monday, Feb. 26 -  Students will define Voc. 21 words:  palatable, pallid, paradox, paraphrase, parody, pastoral, patent, paternal, patriarch, pauper.  Students will read Act IV of Julius Caesar and answer the study guide.
 
Tuesday, Feb. 27 - Students will complete Voc. 21-2, and they can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will begin reading Act V of Julius Caesar and answer the study guide.
 
Wednesday, Feb. 28 - Students will complete Voc. 21-3 and G.W.U. 21-1.  They will continue reading Act V and answering the study guide.
 
Thursday, Mar. 1 - Students will complete Voc. 21-4 and G.W.U. 21-2.  They will finish reading Act V and answering the study guide. They will complete a quiz over Act V.  
 
Friday, Mar. 2 - Students will complete Voc. 21 Quiz.  They will receive a notebook check sheet so that they can get their notebooks for the Notebook Test next Tuesday, Mar. 6.

Week of Feb. 20 - 23

Tuesday, Feb. 20 - Students received Voc. 16 - 20 crossword review last Thursday.  The review is due Friday, Feb. 23 and the test is also Friday.  Students will read Act III, sc. 2 - Antony's funeral eulogy.  They will analyze the speech focusing on Antony's rhetoric.
 
Wednesday, Feb. 21 - Students will continue comparing Brutus's and Antony's speeches.  Students will finish reading Act III and answer the study guide.  If time permits, students will complete a quiz over Act III.
 
Thursday, Feb. 22 - Students will complete quiz over Act III, if not taken on Wednesday.  Students will then login to Questar and complete an assignment on Questar that goes along with the two funeral orations.
 
Friday, Feb. 23 - Students will complete Voc. 16 -20 Test.  Students will then continue watching Julius Caesar video, gaining a better visual understanding of the play.

Week of Feb. 12 - 15

Monday, Feb. 12 - Students will define Voc. 20 words:  negligible, notoriety, obligatory, obliterate, oblivious, odious, opportune, ornate, ossify, painstaking.  Students will take EOC practice test on paper.  Progress reports will be sent home.  Have parents sign and return by Thurs., Feb. 15 for a 10 point bonus coupon.
 
Tuesday, Feb. 13 - Students will use their computers to take the EOC practice test.  Students will complete Voc. 20-2, and they can make flashcards for extra credit.  Students will read Act III, Sc. 2, Brutus's speech.
 
Wednesday, Feb. 14 - Students will complete Voc. 20-3 and G.W.U. 20-1.  Students will continue reading Act III, scene 2, reading Mark Antony's eulogy.
 
Thursday, Feb. 15 - Students will take Voc. 20 quiz and they will watch the video on Julius Caesar.  Students will also receive a Voc. 16-10 review.  Voc. 16-20 test will be Friday, February 23./
