How many years have you been in education?
I’ve been in education for over 25 years. I started my career as a paraprofessional in Special Education. My teaching experience has been in general and special education in elementary, middle, and high school. My administrative experience includes Special Ed Supervisor, District 504 Coordinator, building level admin, and Disabilities Coordinator for a community college.
Where did you grow up?
I’m a native Memphian and graduated from St. Agnes Academy.
Where did you go to college?
I attended college for my undergraduate degree at Drury College in Springfield, Missouri. I attended graduate school for my Masters in Special Education and Masters in Administration at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.
What is your favorite past time?
My favorite past time is attending any sporting event. I’m a huge fan of all sports, but my favorite sports are football and volleyball.
What is your favorite book or movie?
Remember the Titans - a great movie with a great message.
What is your favorite thing about being a Bartlett Panther?
Working with so many dedicated teachers, staff, and administrators and the support of our community and school board. All stakeholders have a strong commitment to excellence and doing what is best for students in everything we do. It makes me very proud to be a part of BCS.
Who are you most likely to quote in conversation?
During these unprecedented times, a person I often quote is Shannon Abraham “I’m not perfect. I don’t expect you to be perfect, but every day we can always strive to be better.”
Would you like to share anything about your family?
My daughter is a teacher and high school volleyball coach at ECS. My son is a college football coach with previous positions at Missouri, Oklahoma State, and Texas State. My hobbies are running and boating. My most recent hobby is golf.
