Week of May 20 - 24

Monday, May 20 - Notebook Test.  Students received the notebook check sheet Friday.  It is also posted on Clever.  
 
Tuesday, May 21 - Students will work on their exam reviews.
 
Wednesday, May 22 -  2nd, 4th and 6th period exams
 
Thursday, May 23 - 1st, 5th and 7th period exams
 
Friday, May 24 -  3rd period exam

Week of May 13 - 17

Monday, May 13 - Students will define Voc. 30-2.  Vocabulary 30 words:  visage, vulnerable, wan, wane, wheedle, whimsical, wreak, zealous, zenith, zephyr.  Students will read Act II of 12 Angry Men. Students will answer Act II study guide and take a quiz over Act II.  
 
Tuesday, May 14 -  Students will check Voc. 30-2.  They can make flash cards for extra credit on Voc. 30 quiz.   Students will watch Act II.
 
 Wednesday, May 15 - Students will complete Voc. 30-3.  Students will watch read Act III of 12 Angry Men. Students will answer Act III study guide and take a quiz over Act III.  
 
Thursday, May 16 - Students will complete Voc. 30-4 and watch Act III.
 
Friday, May 17 - Students will complete Voc. 30 quiz.  Students will be given Notebook check list in preparation for the Notebook Test next Monday.  Students will also be given Voc. 26-30 Review.  Voc. 26-30 will be part of the final exam.
 
Final exams begin next week - May 22, 23 and 24.

Week of May 6 - May 10

Monday, May 6 - Students will work on Vocabulary 29-1 words:  timorous, transcend, transition, transitory, translucent, ultimatum, unprecedented,
vehement, verbatim, vigilant.  Students will complete introduction and background work on 12 Angry Men.  Sheet must be turned in at the end of class or finished for homework.
 
Tuesday, May 7 - Students will complete Voc. 29-2.  Students may make flash cards for extra credit.  The flash cards are due Thursday.  Students will begin reading the introduction to 12 Angry Men.
 
Wednesday,  May 8 - Students will complete Voc. 29-3.  Students will read Act I of 12 Angry Men and answer the study guide.  Students will complete a quiz over Act I.
 
Thursday, May 9 -  Students will complete Voc. 29-4 and go over Voc. 29-5.  Students will watch Act I of the play.
 
Friday, May 10 -  Students will complete Voc. 29 quiz.  Students will begin reading Act II of 12 Angry Men.

April 29 - May 3

Monday, April 29 - Students will work on Voc. 28 words:  submission, subsidiary, subsidize, substantially, succulent, succumb, synopsis, synthesis, tawny, theoretical.  All students will complete Part 2 of the English EOC.  Students must have a fully charged computer.
 
Tuesday, April 30 -  All students will complete Part 3 of the English EOC.  Students must have a fully charged computer.  Students will complete Voc. 28-2.  Students can make vocabulary flashcards for extra credit.  Flashcards will be checked Thursday.
 
Wednesday, May 1 - Students will complete Voc. 28-3 and G.W.U. 28-1.  Students will begin watching a historical video on Chance Phelps.  Students will complete a journal entry on what they watched.
 
Thursday, May 2 - Students will complete Voc. 28-4 and G.W.U. 28-2 and 28-3.  Students will continue watching the historical video.  Students will complete a journal entry on what they watched.
 
Friday, May 3 - Students will complete Voc. 28 quiz.  Students will finish watching the historical video.  Students will complete a journal entry on what they watched, and the journal entries will be turned in.
 

Week of April 22 - 26

Monday, April 22 - Students will complete Voc. 27-2.  Voc. 27 words:  sequel, simulate, sordid, sporadic, stamina, steppe, stimulant, stipulate, stratagem, stringent.  Students will continue to practice and review for the English EOC.
 
Tuesday, April 23 - Students will check and correct Voc. 27-2.  Students can make flashcards for extra credit on the vocabulary quiz. Flash cards will be due Thursday. Students will continue to practice and review for the English EOC.
 
Wednesday, April 24 -  Students will complete Voc. 27-3. Students will continue to practice and review for the English EOC.
 
Thursday, April 25 -  Students will complete Voc. 27-4. Students will continue to practice and review for the English EOC.
 
Friday, April 26 -  Students will complete Voc. 27 quiz. Students will continue to practice and review for the English EOC.  EOC English Part II test is Monday and EOC English Part III test is Tuesday,  Students must have fully charged computers both days.

Week of April 15 - 18

Monday, April 15 - Students will complete Voc. 26-2.  Voc. 26 words are:  requisite, resonant, retainer, retribution, rift, rivulet, sadistic, sardonic, scenario, seethe.  Students will continue to review and practice for the EOC Parts II and III to be taken April 29 - 30.  Progress reports will be given out today.  They are to be signed and returned by Thursday in order to get an extra credit coupon.
 
Tuesday, April 16 - Students will check and correct Voc. 26-2.  Students can make flashcards for extra credit on the Voc. 26 quiz to be taken on Thursday.  Flashcards will be due tomorrow - Wednesday. Students will continue to review and practice for the EOC Parts II and III to be taken April 29 - 30.
 
Wednesday, April 17 - Students will correct G.W.U. 26-1 and complete Voc. 26-3. Students will continue to review and practice for the EOC Parts II and III to be taken April 29 - 30.
 
Thursday, April 18 - Students will complete Voc. 26 Quiz. Students will continue to review and practice for the EOC Parts II and III to be taken April 29 - 30.
 
 
 
 

Week of April 8 - 12

Monday, April 8 - Students received a Vocab. 21-25 review sheet last Friday.  The review is due Friday and the test is Friday for all classes except 4th period.  4th period's test will be Thursday due to testing.  Students will review writing skills and strategies in preparation for the EOC Writing test on Wednesday.  Students will receive a letter explaining their EOC Projected scores.
 
Tuesday, April 9 - Students will continue to review writing skills and strategies in preparation for the EOC Writing test onWednesday.  All students must have fully charged in classes with them on Wednesday.
 
Wednesday, April 10 - All 10th students will complete the Writing portion of the English EOC test.
 
Thursday, April 11 - Students will continue to review skills and strategies needed to be successful on the EOC test.  4th period students will take the Voc. 21 - 25 test.
 
Friday, April 12 - Students in 1st - 3rd periods will take the Voc. 21-25 test.
 
 

Week of April 1 - 5

Monday, April 1 - Students will complete Voc. 25-2.  Voc. 25 words:  repress, rectify, requiem, redundant, reprieve, reminiscent, rendezvous, recourse, rejuvenate, recur.  Students will continue reviewing Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement rules.
 
Tuesday, April 2 - All 10th grade students will take a Pre-ACT test.  Students can make an "Acrostic" for each Vocabulary word for extra credit on the Voc. quiz Friday.  Acrostics are due Thursday.
 
Wednesday, April 3 - Students will go over Voc. 25-2. Students will continue reviewing Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement rules.  Students can make an "Acrostic" for each Vocabulary word for extra credit on the Voc. quiz Friday.  Acrostics are due Thursday.
 
Thursday, April 4 - Students will complete G.W.U. 25-1 and Voc. 25-3. Students will take a Test over Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement.
 
Friday, April 5 - Students will complete Voc. 25 Quiz.  Students will complete Voc. 21-25 Review in preparation for Voc. 21-25 Test next Friday, April 12.

Week of March 25 - 29

Monday, Mar. 25 - Vocabulary 24 words are:  proximity, purge. qualm, quantitative, quibble, rankle, ravage, reactionary, rebuke, recipient.  Students will complete Voc. 24-2.  Students will continue to review the "Special Problems" of Subj./Verb Agreement.
 
Tuesday, Mar. 26 - Students will check and correct Voc. 24-2.  Students who need extra credit on their Voc. 24 quiz this week, can create a Context Clues paragraph.  This will be due Thursday.  (Directions are on Clever.)  Students will complete a quiz over Subject/Verb Agreement and the notes.
 
Wednesday, Mar. 27 - Students will complete Voc. 24-3 and G.W.U. 24-1.  All students will complete a CFA on their computers.  This is a review and preparation for the EOC in April. Students who need extra credit on their Voc. 24 quiz this week, can create a Context Clues paragraph.  This will be due Thursday 
 
Thursday, Mar. 28 - Students will complete Voc. 24-3 and G.W.U. 24-2. Students will complete a TEST over Subject/Verb Agreement.
 
Friday, Mar. 29 - Students will complete Voc. 24 Quiz.  Students will continue reviewing the rules for Pronoun/Antecedent Agreement.

Week of Mar. 18 - 22

Monday, Mar. 18 - Students will define Voc. 23 words:  postulate, potency. precarious, prelude, pretest, prevalent, prolific, prophetic, protocol, protrude.  Students will begin reviewing Subject-Verb Agreement rules and practice using the rules.
 
Tuesday, Mar. 19 - Students will correct Voc. 23-2.  Students will make 5 Vocab. Expert Cards for homework for Voc. 23 words. Students will continue reviewing Subject-Verb Agreement rules and practice using the rules.
 
Wednesday, Mar. 20 - Students will complete Voc. 23-3 sentences and correct G.W.U. 23-1. Students will continue reviewing Subject-Verb Agreement rules and practice using the rules. Students will complete Vocab. Expert Cards for all 10 vocabulary words.  These will be checked tomorrow for a grade.  Hwk:  students will need to complete both sides of the worksheet on Subject/Verb agreement and have it ready to turn in tomorrow for a grade.
 
Thursday, Mar. 21 - Students will complete Voc. 23-4 questions and correct G.W.U. 23-2.  Students will continue reviewing Subject-Verb Agreement rules and practice using the rules by completing a worksheet.
 
Friday, Mar. 22 - Students will complete Voc. 23 quiz. Students will begin reviewing Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement rules and practice using the rules.
 
 

Week of Mar. 4 - 8

Monday, Mar. 4 - Students will complete Voc. 22-2.  Vocabulary 22 words are:  perceive, perception, perseverance, personification, pertinent, pivotal, plausible, pompous, portly, posthumous.  Student Research Project is due today.  Projects turned in after class today will be graded late, resulting in a loss of 20 points per day.  Students will receive the Notebook Test checklist today.  Notebooks are to be organized and in order for the Notebook Test on Tuesday.
 
Tuesday, Mar. 5 - Students will review and check Voc. 22-2.  Students will complete the Notebook Test.
 
Wednesday, Mar. 6 - Students will complete Voc. 22-3 and G.W.U. 22-1.  Students will need a fully charged computer in order to complete a CFA in class.
 
Thursday, Mar. 7 - Students will complete G.W.U. 22-2.  Students will then work on EOC skills in class.
 
Friday, Mar. 8 - Students will complete Voc. 22 Quiz
 

Week of Feb. 25 - Mar. 1

Monday, Feb. 25 -  Students will complete Voc. 21-2  words:  palatable, pallid, paradox, paraphrase, parody, pastoral, patent, paternal, patriarch, pauper.
Students will turned in completed Research on their two careers.  Students will receive information packet on Research Project.  They will begin working on their Rough Drafts.  Rough Drafts are due at the beginning of class on Wednesday.  (All information and example will be on Clever.)
 
Tuesday, Feb. 26 - Students will check and correct Voc. 21-2.  Students will continue to work on their Rough Draft.  If not finished in class today, they will need to be finished for homework.  Rough Drafts are due at the beginning of class tomorrow - Wednesday.  
 
Wednesday, Feb. 27 - Students will complete Voc. 21-3 and G.W.U. 21-1.  Students must have their Rough Drafts checked and approved, and then they can begin working on their Final Project.  Final Projects are due Monday, Mar. 4.  They may be turned in early, Fri., Mar., 1 for 10 point extra credit.  This will count as a Test Grade, and Projects turned in after Monday, Mar. 4, will lose 20 points per day.
 
Thursday, Feb. 28 - Students will complete Voc. 21-3 and G.W.U. 21-2. Students will continue to work on Final Project.
 
Friday, Mar. 1 - Students will complete Voc. 21 quiz.  Students will continue to work on Final Project.  Final Projects are due Monday, Mar. 4.  This will count as a Test Grade, and Projects turned in after Monday, Mar. 4, will lose 20 points per day.

Week of Feb. 19 - 22

Tuesday, Feb.19 -  Because of testing this week, there will be not Vocabulary words this week.  All 10th grade students will be taking a 10th grade English Practice Test.  All students must have fully charged computers in class.
 
Wednesday, Feb. 20 -  Students will turn in Works Cited Sheets.  Students will review how to create citations.  Students will begin researching the two different careers that they have chosen.  They will compile their information by completing the worksheets they will receive today.  All students must have fully charged computers in class.
 
Thursday, Feb. 21 - Students will continue to work on their research. Research information must be turned in at the end of class today, or at the beginning of class tomorrow.   All students must have fully charged computers in class.
 
Friday, Feb. 22 - Students will receive information on how to complete their research project.  They will then begin working on their Rough Draft.  Rough Drafts are due Tuesday, Feb. 26. Students cannot proceed onto developing their Final Project, until their Rough Draft has been turned in and approved.   All students must have fully charged computers in class.  Final Projects are due Monday, March 4.  Projects turned in early, Friday, Mar. 1, will receive 10 points extra credit.  Projects turned in after Mar. 1 will result in a penalty of minus 20 points per day.  Projects will be graded as a test grade.

Week of Feb. 11 - 14

Monday, Feb. 11 - Students will receive Voc. 16 - 20 Review to work on in class in preparation for the Voc. 16-20 test Thursday.
 
Tuesday, Feb. 12 - Students will complete Career Interest Inventory.  If not finished in class and turned in, it must be finished for homework.
 
Wednesday, Feb. 13 Students will review the basics for MLA formatting as used in a research paper/project.  Voc. 16-20 Test tomorrow.
 
Thursday, Feb. 14 - Students will complete Voc. 16-20 Test. Students will then review MLA formatting information from Wednesday..
 
Friday, Feb. 15 - Student holiday.

Week of Feb. 4 - 8

Monday, Feb. 4 - Students will complete Voc. 20-2.  Vocabulary 20 words:  negligible, notoriety, obligatory, obliterate, oblivious, odious, opportune, ornate, ossify, painstaking.  Students will complete an assignment on CommonLit.  If not finished in class, it is homework.  All students must bring computers to class on Tuesday.
 
Tuesday, Feb. 5 - Students will review Voc. 20-2.  Students will then complete a CFA on their computers.
 
Wednesday, Feb. 6 - Students will compete Voc. 20-3 and G.W.U. 20-1.  Students will then create a Plot Diagram for one of the stories that they read.
 
Thursday, Feb. 7 - Students will compete Voc. 20-3 and G.W.U. 20-2.  Students will begin Short Story Project which will count as a test grade.  Project is due Friday, Feb. 8.
 
Friday, Feb. 8 - Students will complete Voc. 20 quiz.  Students will finish Short Story Project and turn in.
