Meet Mrs. Schwill

Mrs. Cathy Schwill is entering her 38th year of teaching, and 23rd year at Bartlett High School. Prior to Bartlett High, Mrs. Schwill taught six years at Shadowlawn Middle School and eight years at Sky View Academy. Mrs. Schwill teaches 10th grade English, the last twelve years have been in a Co-teach classroom. Mrs. Schwill has a long legacy with Bartlett High School. She graduated from Bartlett in 1969, and both of her parents and her grandfather also graduated from Bartlett. She graduated with honors from Christian Brothers College in 1973, one of the first eight women graduating from the formerly all-male college. She received her Master’s degree from Cumberland University. She has been married for the last forty years to Ray Schwill, former Deputy Director of the Memphis Police Department and now Criminal Justice teacher at Bartlett. They have three adult children, Alexis, and twins Jennie and Trey.

Mrs. Schwill has worked for the past twenty years as a Master Mentor, a Learning Coach and now Instructional Coach. She works with new teachers to Bartlett High to help them to develop into effective, professional teachers who excel in their classrooms and help their students succeed. She is the English Department Chair and PLC group leader. She is also working with Best Buddies at Bartlett High School.

Outside of Bartlett High School, Mrs. Schwill enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cheering on the University of Memphis Tigers, and traveling with her husband.
