Ms. Kimberly Huggins » Welcome

Welcome

Welcome! Thank you for visiting my webpage! My name is Kimberly Huggins. I can be easily reached at khuggins@bartlettschools.org

I am so excited to be teaching Algebra 2 this year. I intend to have a classroom in which my students all feel welcome, safe, and excited to learn. My goal is to present mathematics in a way that reaches every student, including those who always claim they are "not math people". We will utilize lots of problem-based learning, discussions, collaborations, multiple representations, and various types of work to learn Algebra 2 this year. Feel free to email me with any questions regarding my class this year.

About Me

I am a graduate of the University of Memphis with a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education. I am passionate about all things math, literacy, and education. My teacher instagram is @hsmwmsh if you’d like to keep up with my teaching and classroom adventures! My favorite people - other than my students - are my niece and nephews. I have 2 dogs and a cat, and they are my family. I also work at the Memphis Zoo with their education department. I spend my summers teaching at Zoo Camp, and during the academic year, I occasionally teach zoo snoozes and owl prowls. In college, I was a peer tutor/mentor at Whitehaven High School and East High School, and I spent my residency year in Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Bridge Math classes at East High School and their optional school Memphis T-STEM Academy. I am so excited to spend my first year with everyone at Bartlett High School this year!
