Welcome to Co-Taught Geometry!
ALL CLASS COMMUNICATION AND ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE DONE THROUGH CANVAS
Welcome parents and students! My name is Mrs. Odum, and I am excited to work with you this year. I specialize in helping students with disabilities access the general education environment, but I love making learning more accessible for ALL students. I especially love making mathematics concrete so students can see the real-world applications of their learning. I will be partnering with Mrs. Galloway (Rikard) in co-taught Geometry this year.

What are Co-Taught classes?
Co-teaching is a collaborative approach to instruction in which two teachers work together to plan and implement instruction for classes that include students with disabilities. I am a special education teacher and specialize in helping students with disabilities participate fully in the general education environment. Mrs. Galloway is a general education math teacher who specializes in all things Geometry.

The curriculum in this class is exactly the same as all other Geometry classes on campus. Students learn the same information and take the same end-of-year exams, but they do have additional support and/or accommodations. Students enrolled in these classes may or may not have disabilities.

Students are not singled out based on disability, nor do they work exclusively with one teacher or the other. Instead Mrs. Galloway and I meet all students where they are at and push them to succeed!
