                                 Finish Introduction to Night

                                  Watch the video “Introduction to Night”.   It is posted on     Curve and is a short video thatmhelps us to understand more about the background of Elie Weisel's  family and his life before his memoir begins.

        Access “The Holocaust and World War II Encyclopedia” posted on Curve.  It contains a timeline of important dates in World War II.  Click on and watch “World War II:  Maps” in order to gain a better understanding of the magnitude of World War II.

Wednesday, August 26 -  In Curve Complete Attendance Question

                               Bellwork:  Complete Voc. 2-4

                               Watch the video “The Power of Nazi Propaganda” that was filmed in the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, to get a better understanding of how Hitler used propagandato influence people’s attitudes and actions.  (It is posted on Curve.)

When finished, click on the “Holocaust Propaganda Assignment” in Curve.  It consists of three different Nazi Propaganda posters.  Analyze each poster by answering the attached questions.  Submit when complete.

Monday, Mar. 9 - Students will complete Voc. 23-2 words:  postulate, potency, precarious, prelude, pretext, prevalent, prolific, prophetic, protocol, protrude.  Students will complete Part I of Board mandated  Post Assessment Test on their computers.  Notebook Test Wednesday, Mar. 11.  Students received notebook check list last Friday.  (The notebook check list is also posted on Clever/Curve.)  When finished, and for homework, students need to make the corrections/complete their rough draft. Final copy must be printed and be ready to turn in, and uploaded to
turnitin.com on Friday, Mar. 13.  Final Research Paper will count as two test grades on the Fourth Quarter.

Flashcards will be checked Thursday for 10 points extra credit on Voc. 23 Quiz. Students will complete Parts II and III of Board mandated  Post Assessment Test on their computers. Tuesday, Mar. 3 - Students will review and check Voc. 22-2.  Students can make flashcards for extra credit on this week's Voc. quiz.  Flashcards are due Thursday. Students MUST finish outline for homework.
 
Wednesday, Mar. 4 - Students will complete Voc. 22-3.  Students will begin typing their Rough Draft for their research paper.
 
Thursday, Mar. 7 - Students will complete G.W.U. 22-2.  Students will continue to work on rough draft.  Rough Draft Must Be Completed by Friday.
 
Friday, Mar. 8 - Students will complete Voc. 22 Quiz.  Students will upload rough draft on Paper Rater.  Students will receive notebook check list for Notebook Test next Wednesday.

Week of Feb. 24 - 28

Monday, Feb. 24 -  Students will complete Voc. 21-2  words:  palatable, pallid, paradox, paraphrase, parody, pastoral, patent, paternal, patriarch, pauper.  Students will find at least 3 sources to use in their research paper.  Complete the Research Sheet for homework.  All students must have fully charged computers in class today and all week.  Progress Reports will be sent home today.  Parents are to sign and return by Friday in order to receive a 10 point bonus coupon.
 
Tuesday, Feb. 25 -  Students will review Voc. 21-2. Students will create title/works cited page through Microsoft word. Students may make flashcards for extra credit to be checked Thursday.
 
Wednesday, Feb. 26 - Students will complete G.W.U. 21-1 and Voc. 21-3.  Students will gather and record  notes from chosen sources.
 
Thursday, Feb. 27 - Flashcards are due at the beginning of class. Students will complete G.W.U. 21-2 and Voc. 21-4. Students will create and complete Thesis Statement worksheet.
 
Friday, Feb. 28 - Voc. 21 Quiz.  Students will complete taking notes for their paper.  All Notes are due Monday,

Week of Feb. 18 - 21

Tuesday, Feb. 18 - Students received Voc. 16 -20 review crossword puzzle last Friday.  It is due Friday, Feb. 21 and the test is Friday, Feb. 21.  Students will be introduced to Research Project and topics will be discussed.  Students will be choosing a famous African American who had a positive impact on America. Students will be allowed to research and submit their choice for their project.  Teachers must approve choice.  Choices and guidelines are posted on Curve.  Must ave choice ready to turn in tomorrow.
 
Wednesday, Feb. 19 - Students will work on Plagiarism assignment in class. It needs to be completed and ready to turn in on Friday.
 
Thursday, Feb. 20 - Students will complete Research Question worksheet.
 
Friday, Feb. 21 - Voc. 16 - 20 Test.   Plagiarism worksheet due by the end of class.

Week of Feb. 10 - 14

Monday, Feb. 10 - Students will complete Voc. 20-2.  Vocabulary 20 words:  negligible, notoriety, obligatory, obliterate, oblivious, odious, opportune, ornate, ossify, painstaking.  Students will finish study guide for "Lamb to the Slaughter" and then watch the video over the story.  Quiz over the story tomorrow.
 
Tuesday, Feb. 5 - Students will review Voc. 20-2.  Students can make flash- cards for extra credit.  Flashcards are due Thursday.
Students will then complete quiz over "Lamb to the Slaughter."
Students will begin Short Story Project which will count as a test grade.  Finished Project is due Friday, Feb. 14.  Students will then create a Plot Diagram for one of the stories that they read, following the directions/guide.  Finish for homework.
 
Wednesday, Feb. 6 - Students will compete Voc. 20-3 and G.W.U. 20-1.  
Students will then choose one of the two plot diagrams that they created for homework to create a Short Story Comic Strip.  This Short Story Project will count as a Test grade.  Due Friday, Feb. 14.
 
Thursday, Feb. 7 - Extra credit flashcards will be checked.  Students will compete Voc. 20-3 and G.W.U. 20-2.  Students will continue working on their Short Story Project which will count as a test grade.  Project is due tomorrow Friday, Feb. 14.
 
Friday, Feb. 8 - Students will complete Voc. 20 quiz.  Students will finish Short Story Project and turn in.  Students will receive Voc. 16-20 review.
