*Coolidge Scholarship is open through December 11, 2024 for students with a strong record of academic excellence and community involvement, as well as an interest in public policy. This award is a full-ride at any accredited four-year college in the United States. More information can be found at https://coolidgescholars.org.
Senior Opportunities
*Amazon Future Engineers scholarship is open to students planning to major in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, or another computer-related field. Applicants must have at least a 2.3 cumulative GPA. More information can be found at https://www.amazonfutureengineer.com/scholarships. Deadline is December 19, 2024.
*Arbitrage Trade Analytics is offering a $1000/year scholarship to graduating seniors with at least a 3.5 cumulative unweighted grade point average who plan to major in finance, economics, accounting, physics, engineering, mathematics, or computer science at a four-year college. This opportunity is only open to students in Shelby County, TN, Desoto County, MS, and Crittenden County, AR. *AXA Equitable Excellence is offering scholarships to students with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA who are planning to continue their education at a two or four year college. More information can be found at https://learnmore.scholarsapply.org/equitableexcellence/ and the deadline to apply is December 18, 2024.
*Bartlett Masonic Lodge and Bartlett OK Houck will each offer 2 one-time $500 scholarships to graduating BHS seniors. Applicants must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA and a history of community service. Applications can be found at http://bartlett211.org/grants/ and are due January 31, 2025. Students may apply for- and potentially receive- both awards.
*Burger King Foundation will offer scholarships to students with at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA planning to continue their education at a technical school or two or four year college. Applications will be open October 15th-December 16th or until 50,000 applications have been received. More details can be found at https://bk-scholars.com.
*Chick-fil-A Community Scholars program is open to seniors with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and history of leadership and involvement who are planning to continue their education at a technical, two or four year college. *Coca-Cola Scholars is open to students with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and history of leadership/involvement. Applications are open through September 30th at https://www.coca-colascholarsfoundation.org.
*DeWalt Trades scholarship is open through January 16, 2025 for students with at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA who are planning to attend a two-year college or technical school. A list of approved programs and the application can be found at https://learnmore.scholarsapply.org/dewalttrade/
*Don't Drive Drowsy Foundation is offering a $2000 scholarship to a Tennessee senior. Deadline to apply is February 21, 2025 and details can be found on the attachment below.
*Dr. Pepper is offering its annual tuition giveaway competition. Video submission of achievement, goals, tuition needs/impact is required. More information can be found at https://www.drpepper.com/tuition/. Deadline is September 30, 2024.
*Elks Most Valuable Student scholarship is open through November 12th for students who are U.S. citizens planning to continue their education at a two or four year college. Visit https://www.elks.org/scholarWeb/resources/mvsFAQ.cfm for application details.
*Gates Scholarship is open for minority students with at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA, history of leadership/involvement, have demonstrated financial need, and be planning to attend a four-year college or university. More information and the application can be found at https://www.thegatesscholarship.org/scholarship. Deadline is September 15th.
*GE-Reagan Foundation scholarship program is for students with a history of leadership/involvement, at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and be planning to attend a four year college or university. *Hagan Scholarship Foundation is open through December 1, 2024 for up to 1000 high-achieving, goal-driven students. Students must be planning to attend one of the eligible institutions on the Hagan Scholarship Foundation website. More information can be found at https://haganscholarships.org.
*HBCU Week scholarship applications are now open. Most require students to have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, be planning to attend an HBCU, and apply by February 17, 2025. More details can be found at https://www.hbcuweek.org.
*Jack Kent Cooke Foundation scholarship applications will be open August 22nd-November 14th for seniors with at least a 3.75 cumulative GPA and household income below $95,000 who plan to attend an accredited four-year college in the U.S. More details can be found at https://www.jkcf.org/our-scholarships/college-scholarship-program/.
*Jackie Robinson Foundation has opened its applications through January 9, 2025 for minority students with a strong academic record, history of leadership/involvement, and who are planning to attend one of the Jackie Robinson Foundation program's approved four year colleges. *McDonald's HACER scholarship is open to students with at least a 2.8 cumulative GPA, at least one parent of Hispanic origin, and who are planning to attend a two or four year college or technical school. *Memphis Promise is a last-dollar scholarship program to assist with mandatory tuition and fees at the University of Memphis for students who are eligible for the Hope scholarship and have demonstrated financial need (Pell grant eligible). *Middle Tennessee State University in partnership with Meharry Medical College is offering an early entry program to medical school to help underserved communities. Scholarships are available. Applicants must have a 28 ACT composite and 3.5 cumulative GPA. *National Honor Society will offer scholarships to its senior members who most exemplify the NHS pillars of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Applications are open September 16, 2024-November 26, 2024 at https://www.nationalhonorsociety.org/advisers/the-nhs-scholarship/.
*NROTC scholarships are available at many colleges across the country for high-achieving students who are willing to commit to military service following college graduation. See the flyer below for details and application timelines.
*Ron Brown Scholars Program is open to African-American students with a strong academic record planning to continue their education at an accredited four-year college. Deadline is December 1st and more details can be found at https://ronbrown.org.
*Tennessee Hope Lottery scholarship is for students planning to attend a Tennessee two or four year college who have at least a 3.0 HOPE GPA (not unweighted or weighted) or 21 ACT composite (not superscore). The application is the FAFSA, which will open mid-late fall. *Tennessee Promise is a program designed to help students pay for tuition at any Tennessee College of Applied Technology or two-year community college in Tennessee. We recommend all students apply as a back-up plan. More information can be found at https://www.collegefortn.org/tnpromise/. The application is two parts: creating an account, then logging into the account and applying for Tennessee Promise. Deadline is November 1st. Student handbook is available below.
*University of Memphis Army ROTC is looking for applicants with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA for its program that is designed to promote leaders and professional development. Students are expected to participate in military service following graduation. See the flyer below for more details and application timelines.
*University of Memphis is offering the Emerging Leaders program for students with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, 21 ACT composite, and history of leadership/involvement. Deadline to apply is February 1st and more information about the program and application process can be found at https://www.memphis.edu/studentinvolvement/leadershipandservice/el-apply.php.
*University of Memphis has opened its First Scholars applications for first-generation college students who have earned admission to the university. Applications are open through February 1st at https://memphis.edu/firstscholars/ and more details can be found on the handout below.
*University of Memphis has opened its Tiger Scholarship Manager for awards other than general academic scholarships. Students can log in through their MyMemphis account and explore the Tiger Scholarship Manager for additional opportunities. Visit https://www.memphis.edu/scholarships/ for more information.
*University of Tennessee-Chattanooga is offering the Westbrook scholarship to entering freshmen who are chemistry and physics majors. Other requirements include completing high school chemistry or physics with a B average, 26 ACT composite score, and 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher. *UT Promise is a last-dollar scholarship, similar to Tennessee Promise, which can be used at any UT college location. Applicants must qualify for the Hope scholarship (21 ACT composite or 3.0 cumulative Hope GPA), have a family adjusted gross income of $75,000 or less and total assets of $75,000 or less. Applicants must apply for Tennessee Promise by November 1st, UT Promise and at least one UT school by December 16th, and follow all other deadlines. *American Legion is sponsoring its oratorical scholarship program to encourage students to have a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the United States constitution. Application with pertinent details about the program can be found below. Deadline is February 4, 2025.
