Our goal is to finish the research papers by Friday, 22nd. In looking over your rough drafts, I'm seeing many run-on sentences. I've attached an exercise for practice.

Rough drafts were due last Thursday. A few of you managed to submit on time, but it appears they could use more work!

Please look at the instructions from last week before submitting tonight. 

Rough drafts are due on Turnitin by midnight tonight.

Type thesis first and only the body of the paper. We will add the introduction and conclusion next week.

The works cited page also needs to be formatted correctly. Carefully sync your parenthetical citations to your sources on the WC page.

Remember three key items:

alphabetical order

reverse indentation

period after everything (almost)

Include Works Cited as a separate page.

Students are memorizing Mark Antony's eulogy from Caesar.

Rhetorical tools (ethos, pathos, logos) will be analyzed in the speech.

The first 12 lines need to be memorized by Friday, 16th.

Also, students need to know the first ten literary terms by Friday. These are listed on the back of their copies of the eulogy.

Be aware that most of the footage is gruesome, and you will be emotionally impacted. If you choose not to view this documentary, ask me for an alternative assignment. We must study history or be doomed to repeat it.

The test for Night will be October 17th.
