WELCOME TO COACH GALVAN'S CLASS

Hello, my name is Rodrigo Galvan and I will be your English 11 (American Literature) teacher for the 2023/24 school year.  I am in my 24th year of teaching and this will be my first year at BHS.  I taught for 8 years in Atlanta, GA and moved to Memphis in 2008 where I spent 15 years at Bolton High School.  I am excited about this new opportunity and look forward to working with each and every one of you!  

 

I grew up in Chicago, IL and graduated from Saint Xavier University where I played college football.  I am a sports enthusiast and love ALL Chicago sport teams (besides the Cubs).  I am currently the head girl's wrestling coach here at Bartlett High School and am excited about the upcoming season!  

 

Besides coaching, I also work for Cage Fury Fight Championships (MMA) as their assistant matchmaker.  We are one of the top minor league promotions for the UFC and our events are streamed on their TV Channel (UFC Fight Pass).  I took my passion and hobby and found a way to turn it into a part time job.  I encourage every student to do that.  Find something that you love doing and would normally do for free, and then find a way to turn your passion into a job!!!
