Week of Sept. 17 - 21

Monday, Sept. 17 - Students will receive Voc. 1-5 review sheet.  Review is due Friday, and the Voc. 1-5 test will be Friday, Sept. 21.  Grade replacement opportunity will also be given to students.  Grade replacement assignment is due Friday, Sept. 21.
 
Tuesday, Sept. 18 - Students will continue reading Chp. 3 in Night and complete study guide.
 
Wednesday, Sept. 19 - Students will finish reading Chp. 3 in Night and complete study guide.  Students will begin reading Chp. 4.  Students must have fully charged computers in class Thursday.
 
Thursday, Sept. 20 - Students will complete CFA on their computers.
 
Friday, Sept. 21 - Students will complete Voc. 1-5 Test.
 
 

Week of Sept. 10 - 14

Monday, Sept. 10 - Voc. 5 words:  casement, caustic, censure, charisma, clangor, clemency, cliche', clientele, closure, coffer.  Students will complete Voc. 5-2 and make 5 Voc. expert cards.  Students will continue reading Chp. 1 of Night.
 
Tuesday, Sept. 11 - Students will review Voc. 5-2 and make remaining 5 Voc. expert cards.  Students will finish reading Chpt. 1 and answer the study guide.
 
Wednesday, Sept. 12 - Students will complete G.W.U. 5-1 and Voc. 5-3.  Students will begin reading Chpt. 2 of Night and answer the study guide.
 
Thursday, Sept. 13 - Students will complete G.W.U. 5-2 and Voc. 5-4.  Students will continue reading Chpt. 2 of Night.
 
Friday, Sept. 14 - Students will complete Voc. 5 quiz.  Students will continue reading Night.

Week of Sept. 4 - 7

Tuesday, Sept. 4 - Students will turn in SIT strategy for the Preface to Night. Complete Voc. 4-2. (Words are posted on Clever)  Make 5 Voc. Expert Cards.   Students can complete CommonLit replacement assignment, due Friday, Sept. 7.  
Students will be reading Chpt. 1 of Night, and answer the study guide.  Progress Reports will be passed out.  They need to be signed and returned by Friday, Sept. 7.
 
Wednesday, Sept. 5 - Students will complete G.W.U. 4-2.  Make the remaining 5 Voc. Expert Cards.  Students will watch a Pre-War powerpoint on Pre-War Sighet.  Students will continue reading Night.
 
Thursday, Sept. 6 - Students will create Voc. Acrostic the Voc. 4 words (directions will be posted on Clever).  School pictures are today. Students will continue reading Night.
 
Friday, Sept. 7 - Students will complete Voc. 4 quiz.  Last day to turn in signed Progress Report.  Last day to take advantage of CommonLit grade replacement.

Week of August 27 - 31

Monday, Aug. 27 - Vocabulary 3 words: assert, astute, atrocious, autonomy, axiom, balmy, bayou, bedlam, beguile, besiege. Students will complete Voc. 3-2 and make 5 Vocabulary Expert Cards.  Students will sign up for CommonLit and complete the assigned article.
 
Tuesday, Aug. 28 - Students will make 5 more Vocabulary Expert Cards.  Each student will be assigned his or her own copy of Night.  Students will learn about the timeline of the Holocaust.
 
Wednesday, Aug. 29 - Students will complete G.W.U. 3-1.  Students will discuss Propaganda and how it was used by the Germans to influence society.
 
Thursday, Aug. 30 - Students will complete G.W.U. 3-2.  Students will receive study guide to accompany the reading of Night.  Students will begin reading Night and answering the study guide.
 
Friday, Aug. 31 - Students will complete Voc. 3 Quiz.   Students will continue reading Night and answering the study guide.

Week of August 20 - 24

Monday, Aug. 20 - Students will work with Voc. 2 words:  annihilate,          anthropology, antiquity, apex, appease, apprehensive, aptitude, arbiter, archaic, ascertain.  Students will complete Voc. 2-2.  Hwk:  5 voc. expert cards and research on your name. 
 
Tuesday, Aug. 21 - Students will compete writing assignment on their name.  Hwk:  the next 5 voc. expert cards and  bring picture and embellishments for finished Name Card. 
 
Wednesday, Aug. 22 - Students will complete G.W.U. 2-1.  Students will make Name Card and turn in.  Hwk:  Voc. 2-3 and 2-4 and finish Name Card (if not finished and turned in during class).
 
Thursday, Aug. 23 - Students will complete G.W.U. 2-2.  Students will complete a pre-voc. quiz.  Students will read background information on Elie Weisel in preparation to reading Night.  Hwk: study for Voc. 2 quiz.
 
Friday, Aug. 24 - Students will complete  Voc. 2 quiz.  Background information on Elie Weisel will be completed and turned in.
 
 

Week of August 13 - 17

Monday, August 13 - Students will  receive a copy of the classroom rules and expectations.  Students will also receive a copy of the study guide for the test and the directions for the project for the summer reading book that they read.  Students can choose to take the test over the book or they can complete the project.  The test over the book or the project for the book will be Friday, Aug. 17.  Students will receive the ten vocabulary words for this week.  The Vocabulary quiz will be Friday, Aug. 17.
 
Tuesday, Aug. 14 - Students will review Vocabulary 1 words.  Students will use index cards to create "Expert Cards" for 5 of their vocabulary words.  Students may have some time in class to work on the study guide for the summer reading book or their project.
 
Wednesday, Aug. 15 -  Students will use index cards to create "Expert Cards" for the rest of their vocabulary words. Students will complete G.W.U. 1-1.  Students may have some time in class to work on the study guide for the summer reading book or their project.
 
Thursday, Aug. 16 - Students will complete G.W.U. 1-2.  Students will complete Voc. review quiz.  Students will complete Voc. 1-3 sentences and Voc. 1-4 questions for homework.  Test over summer reading tomorrow (Friday) or Project on summer reading is due tomorrow.
 
Friday, Aug. 19 - Students will complete Test over the summer reading book or they will turn in their completed project.  Voc. 1 Quiz.
