Youth Court Information

We need students to be a lawyer prosecuting a criminal at a real Juvenile Court trial.

We need students to be the lawyer defending criminals at a real Juvenile Court trial.

We need students to be trained to work with a real lawyer building these cases.

We need students to sit on a real Juvenile Court jury and decide the punishment for a juvenile criminal.

If you are interested see Mr. Riding, Mr. Schwill or Mr. Rovery at A201, A208 or A 209 for information on Youth Court.

We need students who want to reduce crime through their community involvement.

You can do this if you join the Youth Court team. You must be at least a tenth-grade student, have a 2.0 grade average, and pass a background check by Juvenile Court.

Those on trial are first time non-violent offenders who have already plead guilty, and the trial will be a sentencing trial to determine the punishment of the juvenile on trial.

More than ninety percent of the juveniles who choose chose this process for their punishment never come into the juvenile justice system again.

This is great way to accumulate community service hours and an awesome resume builder for college application.

Contact Mr. Schwill or Mr. Riding in A201 orA209 and Mr. Rovery at the Academy. The program is being expanded because of it’s success.
